ELF MATTE LIP COLOR

I am a firm believer of the beauty fact that not every red suits everyone, but there is a red lip color out there for everyone. We should just be lucky enough to find it. I love sầu the Faces Canadomain authority Go Chic Poppy Red on me. It is orange based and suits me very well. Another red that I find suits my yellow toned, NC 40 skin is this red rich lip color from ELF’s studio range.

Packaging:

The matte black studio packaging of ELF is very chic. It feels sturdy when holding it. The cap comes on và off easily & even clicks shut, which is always assuring, but what I vày not like is the way it twists up & down. The rotatory motion is not very smooth, it feels lượt thích something will break inside & it will not work well after that. I have sầu been using this color for over 4-5 months now. There has been no damage to lớn it, but it still feels very uneasy khổng lồ rotate it.

Color:

It is a cool-toned deep red; it is pink based. As a general rule, one would assume that cool-toned lipsticks look better on cool-toned skins, but there are exceptions to lớn every rule & this lipstiông xã does look good on my warm-toned skin. I think that is because it is not too dark. In the following image, the lower swatch shows just one light handed swipe of the color & the upper swatch shows multiple swipes. You can hopefully see how deep it is with just one swipe. The left is without any flash và right is with. The flash highlights the pink in the color more.

Fragrance:

ELF lip products have a very nice fragrance to them generally, but this particular sản phẩm barely has any. Whatever I vày smell is pleasant. I can’t exactly place this one as it is very faint. Only for the sake of this review, I smelt it closely, so I felt it; when applying it, one hardly notices anything.

Texture/Stay-on Power:

The texture is very creamy. For a matte lipstiông chồng, I was not expecting such a creamy payoff at all. It does not feel dry on application. It helps to have sầu well-moisturised lips anyway, but this does go on very smoothly. The downside is that it stays creamy for around 2-3 hours and no more. The color does not budge, but the product starts to lớn feel dry. I just swipe my lip balm over it to moisten my lips again. I don’t touch up with the lipstiông chồng again and again as the color stays put and it will keep getting intense with more swipes. This is a much pigmented sản phẩm. Since it is such a dark color, I guess it has more color pay off. I have other lip colors from this range which are lighter than & not as pigmented as this Rich Red at all.

This is a lip swatch without any liner or primer under it.

I love sầu this red color. I wish I can repurchase it, but if I find dupes of this available easily in India, then I will go for the dupe.

Do I Recommend ELF Matte Lip màu sắc – Rich Red?

The color is gorgeous & would look good on a lot of skin tones, so yes, I definitely recommend it if you are buying it in US or UK, where you can get this at the store at its regular cheap price, but if you have khổng lồ pay the online taxes plus shipping and all, I recommkết thúc going for a dupe.
